1. Jurors found former Hollywood Police Officer Matthew Barbieri not guilty of using excessive force during a rough arrest in 2019. This trial is at least the fifth police brutality trial that state prosecutors in Broward County have lost. (WSVN)

2. Commissioner Chris Magnus, the head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, visited South Florida amid a sharp increase in migrants captured in the area. Magnus said he wants to "send a clear message that the border is not open." (WPLG Local 10)

3. The city of Miami has paid Joe Carollo's personal attorney nearly half a million dollars over the last four years. Plaintiffs allege that Carollo retaliated against them and their Little Havana business for supporting his political opponent and used city resources to harass their businesses. (Miami New Times)

4. A man and woman from South Florida have pleaded guilty in a case involving the theft of the diary of Ashley Biden, the daughter of U.S. President Joe Biden, according to multiple reports. The diary was stolen in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election and sold for cash. The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. (Miami Patch)

5. An officer with the Miami Police Department was arrested Tuesday for allegedly strangling a woman in front of her child inside a Davie home. Zamir Vargas Valerio, 34, has been with the police force for five years and was charged with one count of felony domestic battery by strangulation. (NBC Miami)

  • A Palmetto Senior High School student was airlifted to the hospital after jumping from the school’s third floor. The condition of the student is unknown. (WSVN)
  • Hazelle Rogers has won a seat on the Broward County Commission. She outraised her opponents by over $100,000. (Florida Politics)
