Bank Robber Opens Fire In Miami Shores

A lone gunman opened fire in a Miami Shores bank on Friday but didn't hit anyone, according to FBI agents in Miami.

MIAMI SHORES, FL — A lone gunman opened fire in a Miami Shores bank on Friday but didn't hit anyone, according to FBI agents in Miami. The incident occurred at 9:21 a.m. at a TD Bank branch. Miami Shores police later said that a suspect was taken into custody but he was not identified.

The branch is located at 9005 Biscayne Blvd.

"The robber entered the bank and demanded money from a bank employee. The robber fired at least one shot inside the bank," according to Special Agent Michael Leverock and spokesman Jim Marshall of the FBI in Miami. The FBI released photographs of the suspect taken from surveillance cameras. The FBI would not say how much money was taken during the robbery.

Leverock later told reporters that the gunman fired into the ceiling.

Miami Shores police, Miami-Dade police and the FBI's South Florida Violent Crime Task Force are all working on the investigation.
