Deputies search for SUV in NW Miami-Dade hit-and-run that left motorcyclist hurt (nbcmiami.com) — Deputies are asking Miami-Dade residents for help finding a red 2017 GMC Yukon Denali involved in a Jan. 6 hit-and-run that injured a motorcyclist near Northwest 54th Street and 22nd Avenue. The SUV should have right-side damage, and anyone with information can anonymously contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers for a possible reward.
   

2. Miami Beach resident posted about the mayor online. Police showed up at her door (miamiherald.com) — Miami Beach residents may be concerned after a local woman says police visited her Flamingo Park home over a Facebook comment she made about Mayor Steven Meiner. She recorded the encounter with two Miami Beach officers and says her post referenced his public statements supporting Israel, raising questions about how online political criticism is being handled locally.
   

3. ESPN, A$AP Rocky Collaborate for College Football Playoff Semifinals and National Championship (sportsvideo.org) — Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium will host the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, Jan. 19, putting the city at the center of the sport’s biggest game. ICE agents wrongly detain veteran aboard cruise ship (debatepolitics.com) — A cruise passenger was briefly detained by federal immigration agents while his ship was docked in Miami, in what authorities later said was a mistaken-identity case. The Phoenix-based veteran describes an early-morning cabin raid, handcuffing, and questioning before being released, raising fresh concerns among travelers about how aggressively ICE conducts enforcement operations at the Port of Miami.
