Broward Lotto Winner Claims $1 Million Prize
The same day a Miami man cashed in his $1 million prize from the Florida lottery, a 52-year-old Broward County man also cashed in his.

TALLAHASSEE – The same day that a Miami man claimed his $1 million prize from the Florida lottery, a 52-year-old Broward County man also cashed in his winning $1 million ticket, according to Florida Lottery officials.
Michael Becker of Davie claimed a $1 million prize in the new $20 Monopoly Jackpot Scratch-Off game at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $715,000.00.

Taylor Nash Schrader of the Florida Lottery told Patch that is is not unusual to have two big winners cash in their tickets on the same day.
"It really just depends," Schrader said. "We have no way to predict how many winners we will have come in to claim prizes during a given week."

Becker purchased his winning ticket from the Publix at 225 South Flamingo Road in Plantation. Publix will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
Monopoly Jackpot launched in September with more than $407.5 million in prizes, including six top prizes of $5 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-2.97.
Leonidas Orlando of Miami also showed up at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee Thursday to cash in his winning ticket from the $5 game, $1,000,000 Holiday Bonus. He also chose the one-time, lump-sum payment.
Orlando purchased his winning ticket from Lorio’s Music and Discount at 868 North Krome Avenue in Homestead.
The Holiday Bonus game offers more than $54.5 million in prizes, including six top prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-4.05.
Scratch-Offs are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, generating more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund during the 2017-18 fiscal year. Such sales account for 69 percent of ticket sales.
