1. A new restaurant set to open in Brickell celebrates Fidel Castro, Che Guevara and communism, and Miami's community is speaking out against the concept. Café Habana has locations in New York City, Malibu, and Tokyo. (CBS Miami)
2. The $60 million Golden Glades Park & Ride transit center that started building in December 2018 is to be ready within weeks. It featured a bus drivers' lounge, a new bus terminal, a new pedestrian bridge that connects to the existing bridge for Tri-Rail, electric car charging stations, hydration stations, and 10,450 square feet of retail. 3. London's celebrity dive, Sexy Fish, is officially open in Brickell. The restaurant and lounge was originally planned for September 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic. It serves a Japanese-influenced menu created by Chef Bjoern Weissgerber of Zuma Miami. (Eater Miami)
4. Vickie Cartwright has been selected as Broward County Public Schools’ full-time superintendent. The school board voted 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon to promote the interim superintendent who has led the district since last summer. (WPLG Local 10)
5. Kyle Holbrook's new mural of the actor Sidney Poitier in Little Havana honors the 1-month anniversary of his death and Black History Month. It was sponsored by Holbrook's organization, Moving Arts Kids, and unveiled last Sunday. (Miami Patch)
