Burning BMW Sets Off Fire Alarm At Miami Target
A BMW SUV burst into flames during Thursday's evening rush hour as the driver was pulling into a downtown Miami parking garage.

MIAMI, FL — A BMW SUV burst into flames during Thursday's evening rush hour, setting off a fire alarm at a nearby Target store. The fire broke out as the driver was pulling into a downtown Miami parking garage. The garage is located at 3401 North Miami Avenue.
"According to the driver, he was entering the north side parking garage when he noticed smoke coming from the vehicle," explained Captain Ignatius Carroll of Miami Fire Rescue, who said that the incident happened around 6 p.m.
"He safely exited the vehicle as several security officers arrived with fire extinguishers," Carroll explained.

Carroll said a trail of fuel also caught fire on a ramp inside the garage.
"Firefighters used a foam application to extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby vehicles," Carroll said.

Air quality at the Target store was deemed to be safe.
"There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is unknown," Carroll added.
