Capital​ Bank Robbed In Aventura

A lone bank robber held up a Capital Bank branch in Aventura and escaped with an unspecified amount of cash.

AVENTURA, FL — The FBI is searching for a lone bank robber who held up a Capital Bank branch on Friday afternoon in Aventura. The robbery took place around 3:21 p.m. The branch is located at 20295 NE 29th Place.

"The robber entered the bank and demanded money from a bank employee," according to Special Agent Michael Leverock and spokesman Jim Marshall of the FBI in Miami. (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Miami Patch.)
No one was injured.

The FBI released photographs of the suspect taken from surveillance cameras. The FBI would not say how much money was taken during the robbery.

"Customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery," according to Leverock and Marshall. "There were no injuries."
