Here are the top five stories in Miami today:

1. Downtown Miami's 1775 Biscayne property has been sold to a Pennsylvania developer. A redesign of the tower is planned, according to the South Florida Business Journal. The new tower will be 40 stories and include 540 apartments, co-working spaces, 14,000 square feet of retail space and 600-plus parking spots. (The Next Miami)

2. Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop launched a new location in North Beach at 1678 NE Miami Gardens Dr. on Monday, May 30. The shop is known for its 45-year tradition of slow-roasting whole, all-natural turkeys in-house and then hand-pulling them every morning. The new shop brings 20 new jobs to the North Miami community. (Miami's Community Newspaper)

3. Three cars have been left on bricks without rims and tires in Pembroke Pines after burglars stole their wheels. Pembroke Pines Police are now investigating the incident. Surveillance footage in the area may have captured the incident, but details are still not being released. (WSVN)

4. A former teacher and athletic director at Everglades High School in Broward County is facing sexual battery charges in a case involving a former student. Carlos Menendez, 48, has been held without bond at the Broward County main jail since May 27. (WPLG Local 10)

5. A Miami woman with a habit of posing as different doctors to fill prescriptions for her insomnia has been arrested again, court records show. Helen Joanna Chirino, 41, has been charged with obtaining prescription medication through fraud and using the identity of a person without their consent. (NBC Miami)

  • City of Miami has raised a Gay Pride Flag over City Hall as part of Gay Pride Month. Miami PD also unveiled a Gay Pride Patrol Car. (Twitter)
  • Miami has become the first city in the country to earn the WELL Health-Safety Rating for Facility Operations and Management across a portfolio of 10 municipal buildings and public parks, including City Hall. (WELL)
  • Pembroke Pines police shot down rumors of a threat to a charter school in the city on Tuesday morning. (WPLG Local 10)
