MIAMI, FL — We asked Floridians to share photos of their favorite 2018 Christmas light displays and the response put a smile on our faces.

Some people used their decorations to raise money for local charities. Others just wanted to create memories for their neighbors.

Here's a look at some of your favorite holiday light displays:

The 2018 Oakdale Christmas Light Display spans half an acre and about 250,000 lights. A walking yard tour includes an 18-train HO scale model railroad that can run 18 trains at a time. The display also features a miniature airport with flying planes, miniature carnival, water fountains and a computerized music light show.

But that's not all. The organizers included a snowman that is nearly three stories high and many moving pieces. One Christmas is 70 feet tall.

What's it take to run all of this? Electric bills have run as high as $4000. This event was honored to be among the top three finalists on NBC's "Today Show"feature "Al Be Home for Christmas." It has also been featured on HGTV's "All Out Christmas Special" and appeared in People Magazine. The display runs from 6 p.m. nightly through Jan 3.

The light display moves to music. Visitors can tune their radios to 92.3 so they can hear the display music in their cars. The show last about 10 minutes and runs through mid January nightly from 6 p.m. to 11:30p.m.

Don't miss the a 9-foot mega tree with 36-inch star on top, 16 arches, four snowflakes and a double matrix screen.

The display is a computerized light show. You can tune your car radio to 95.5 when you are in the neighborhood for the full experience.

Holiday Lights in the Gardens is open daily from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Visit www.flbg.org for more information. A $5 donation per adult is suggested for the light show. This is a walk tour only. No car permitted. The display boasts more than 1 million lights, live entertainment nightly and food for purchase
