Doral Man Accused Of Robbing 4 Banks Over 4 Days

A 27-year-old Doral man has been accused by the FBI of being a serial bank robber responsible for robbing 4 Miami area banks over 4 days.

DORAL, FL — A 27-year-old Doral man has been accused by the FBI of being a serial bank robber responsible for robbing four Miami area banks over a four-day period.

"Capilla was arrested without incident by the FBI in Detroit this morning and is currently in federal custody," Special Agent Michael Leverock and spokesman Jim Marshall of the FBI in Miami said on Friday.

Leverock and Marshall said the FBI believes Capilla is responsible for robbing the TD Bank branch in Doral on Jan. 15, Iberia Bank in Miami Beach on Jan. 17, TD Bank in Miami on Jan. 18 and Chase Bank in Miami on Jan. 18.

"It is anticipated that his initial appearance will be today in Detroit federal court," Leverock and Marshall said.

The FBI was assisted in its investigation by the Miami Dade Police Department, Doral Police Department and Miami Beach Police Department.
