Driver Escapes Burning Car In Northwest Miami-Dade

Two other people involved in the three-car collision had to be taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

MIAMI, FL — The driver of a car that burst into flames Wednesday night managed to escape the burning vehicle with only minor injuries. But two other people involved in the three-car collision had to be taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred around 8 p.m. near NW 5th Ave and NW 95 Street.

"When the first unit arrived they quickly realized this was not only a car fire, it was a vehicle accident with three cars involved that caused the fire," explained Erika Benitez of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

She said firefighters quickly extinguished the fire while crews from rescue units checked the victims for injuries.

"The cause if the accident is under investigation," she added on Thursday. "MDFR reminds everyone to slow down and drive safe."
