Driver Rescued From Hialeah Wreck
First responders used hydraulic tools to rescue the driver of a car that crashed into a highway barrier on Wednesday afternoon.

HIALEAH, FL — First responders used hydraulic tools to rescue the driver of a car that crashed on Wednesday afternoon at State Road 112 and Okeechobee Road. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel said the driver was trapped when they arrived on the scene. The car apparently crashed into a traffic barrier.
A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the crash happened at 12:30 p.m.
"Technical rescue units used hydraulic tools to extricate the patient from the vehicle," according to the spokesperson. "Once the patient was removed, the trauma alert patient was transported by ground to the main trauma center."

The spokesperson added that first responders did not immediately know what caused the crash.
