Driver Shot Multiple Times On Interstate 95

HOLLYWOOD, FL — The driver of a GMC pickup truck was shot multiple times Sunday as he was driving with a passenger along Interstate 95 just south of Hollywood Boulevard.

Lt. Yanko Reyes of Florida Highway Patrol said the incident happened at 5:46 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway.

He said the shots came from a white Dodge Ram that sideswiped the silver GMC. "The Dodge fled the scene, last seen traveling northbound on Interstate 95," Reyes said. "The GMC veered to the right and the right side of the GMC sideswiped the left side of a Silver, Honda."

The driver of the GMC crashed into a guardrail after being shot. He was taken to Hollywood Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The shooting was under investigation by FHP's Bureau of Crime Investigations and Intelligence.
