DUI Checkpoint Underway In Miami-Dade
Miami-Dade police were stopping motorists Friday night into Saturday morning.

PINECREST, FL — Miami-Dade police planned to stop cars at a DUI checkpoint from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 3:30 a.m. Saturday in southwest Miami-Dade.
Unlike rolling saturation patrols that move around a particular area, DUI checkpoints operate in a fixed location for a set number of hours. Vehicles are pulled over based on a formula that might be as simple as selecting 15 consecutive vehicles after each 10-minute period.
Detective Angel Rodriguez of the Miami-Dade Police Department said the checkpoint will be set up at SW 8 Street and SW 88 Avenue.
