MIAMI, FL — An eviction notice was posted on a Miami bar where a fire broke out early Thursday morning.
Miami firefighters were still attempting to determine what caused the blaze at Rumba's Discotheque, according to Capt. Ignatius Carroll, Jr. of Miami Fire Rescue.
Fire broke out shortly after 3 a.m. in the two-story commercial building where the bar is located at 4545 Northwest 7th Street.

"Miami firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the front window of Rumba's Discotheque, located on the first floor," Carroll said. "They entered the building and quickly extinguished a fire in the rear of the structure."
Carroll said the business was closed at the time. He said an eviction notice was posted at the front entrance to Rumba's.

"During their assessment, fire crews noticed the front window pane was removed and the front door was unlocked," Carroll explained. "Since the business was closed and no owner was located, the fire investigator and Miami police were requested to respond to investigate and determine a cause."
Carroll said a small amount of smoke seeped into an upstairs unit and a neighboring business. No damage was reported to the other units.
"According to local business owners, some unusual activity had been observed for the past few days," Carroll added.
There were no reported injuries from the fire. Neighboring businesses were permitted to open on Thursday as usual.
