Firefighters Pull 2 Dogs To Safety During Warehouse Fire

Thick black smoke could be seen billowing from a Hialeah warehouse on Saturday as firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire.

HIALEAH, FL — Thick black smoke could be seen billowing from a Hialeah warehouse on Saturday as firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire. First responders pulled two dogs to safety. The blaze broke out at 11:46 a.m. in an industrial area of the city near NW 36 Avenue and NW 54 Street.

"When we arrived we found Hialeah units fighting the fire," explained Lt. Troy Maness of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. "We assisted in the attack and were able to extinguish that fire, bring it under control."

Fortunately, no one was injured, Maness said. "There were two dogs roaming the scene which we pulled to safety."

Erika Benitez of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue added that the blaze appeared to have originated in some pallets that were stored outside the building.

"Crews from multiple agencies worked for two hours in controlling the fire," she added.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
