Florida Coronavirus Update: 18 Counties Report 47 new deaths
18 Florida counties reported a combined total of 47 new deaths on Saturday.
TALLAHASSEE, FL — The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Florida climbed to 44,811 on Saturday, an increase of 673 new cases over the previous 24-hour period.
Eighteen Florida counties reported a combined total of 47 new deaths over the previous 24-hour period. The total number of deaths rose to 1,964, up from 1,917 a day earlier.
Miami-Dade reported 11 new deaths. Broward County reported six more deaths. Palm Beach County reported four new deaths.

Lee County reported five new deaths. Hillsborough County reported four new deaths. Orange County reported two new deaths as did Clay County, Duval County and Manatee County.
Washington County reported its first death from the virus. Alachua County reported one new death as did Brevard County, Charlotte County, Hendry County, Osceola County, Pinellas County, Polk County and Seminole County.

Florida had a 7.1 percent positive test rate for the virus as of Saturday. A total of 630,795 tests had been administered as of Saturday. The number of hospitalizations in Florida increased to 8,146 from 7,959 a day earlier.
A total of 26,007 cases — or some 58 percent of the state's total — were in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Palm Beach County businesses partially reopened on May 11 while Miami-Dade and Broward counties are set to partially reopen on Monday though some cities like Miami and Miami Beach have opted to open later.
Miami-Dade reported 15,366 confirmed cases as of Saturday. Nearby Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, reported 6,201 cases. Palm Beach County, which includes West Palm Beach, reported 4,440 cases.
Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, reported 1,585 cases as of Saturday. Orange County, which includes Orlando, reported 1,629 cases.
