Here are the top stories in Miami today:
1. A tropical storm watch was issued Sunday for the lower Florida Keys as Tropical Storm Ian moves toward Florida. The storm is expected to become a hurricane by Monday and reach major hurricane strength on Tuesday. (Florida Patch)
2. Four train crew members were hospitalized after two freight trains were involved in a collision near Miami International Airport around 7 p.m. on Saturday night, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials. A CSX statement read, "Preliminary reports indicate that an unknown quantity of diesel fuel spilled from the derailed locomotives. There are no waterways impacted." (WSVN)
3. Parents are outraged about a lack of "transparency" after Broward County Public Schools failed to notify them that a student was suspended at Indian Ridge Middle School after attacking a classmate and threatening to kill him. A spokesperson for the school district said, "The district and school take all matters involving student safety seriously. and they have been in communications with the parents or guardians of both students." 4. A man was to the hospital after he was struck by a Brightline train while riding a bicycle in Miami. The incident happened at the corner Northeast 20th Street and Second Avenue on Saturday afternoon. An investigation is underway. (WSVN)
5. Police are investigating a shooting in Miami-Dade County on Sunday afternoon near Wynwood at Northwest 1st Court and 23rd Street. The victim was transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial hospital and was alert and conscious. No information has been released on the suspect. (WPLG Local 10)

- A judge has ruled jurors can see etched swastikas on the magazine of Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz's AR-15 style rifle, right boot, and photograph of a red backpack with a swastika and racial slur during the state's rebuttal as evidence related to the state's witness diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder. The defense attempted unsuccessfully to exclude the evidence as the penalty trial continues. (Twitter)
