Florida Reports 7 Straight Days Of Positivity Below 10 Percent
Wednesday marked the 7th straight day FL experienced a daily positivity rate below 10 percent as health officials reported 174 new deaths.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Wednesday marked the seventh straight day Florida experienced a daily positivity rate below 10 percent as health officials reported 174 new deaths and 4,115 new cases of the coronavirus.
Despite the apparent decline in new cases, Florida's overall positivity rate continues to tick upward, according to data provided by the Florida Department of Health. The overall positivity rate was at 13.54 percent Wendesday based on 4,312,904 total tests.
The total number of deaths in Florida rose to 9,758 Tuesday, up from 9,539 a day earlier. Florida's most recent one-day record of 276 reported deaths was set last Tuesday.

Health officials reported another 135 deaths involving non-Florida residents who died in Florida. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Florida rose to 584,047 on Wednesday, up from 579,932 a day earlier.

Thirty of Florida's 67 counties reported new deaths Wednesday while Levy County reported one fewer death.
That compares with 219 new deaths Tuesday, 87 new deaths Monday (health officials reported 89 deaths), 107 new deaths Sunday, 205 new deaths Saturday (state health officials reported 204), 228 new deaths Friday, 148 new deaths Thursday and 226 new deaths last Wednesday (state health officials reported 212).

- Miami-Dade County reported 40 new deaths.
- Palm Beach County reported 16 new deaths.
- Broward County reported 24 new deaths.
- Hillsborough County reported 18 new deaths.
- Pinellas County reported 12 new deaths.
- Brevard County reported eight new deaths.
- Hernando County reported six new deaths.
- Escambia County reported five new deaths.
- Highlands County reported five new deaths.
- Orange County reported four new deaths.
- Charlotte County reported three new deaths.
- Columbia County reported three new deaths.
- Marion County reported three new deaths.
- Pasco County reported three new deaths.
- Alachua County reported two new deaths.
- Citrus County reported two new deaths.
- Duval County reported two new deaths.
- Lake County reported two new deaths.
- Polk County reported two new deaths.
- Seminole County reported two new deaths.
- St. Lucie County reported two new deaths.
- Suwannee County reported two new deaths.
- Clay County reported one new death.
- Collier County reported one new deaths
- Gilchrist County reported one new death.
- Gulf County reported one new death.
- Okaloosa County reported one new death.
- Osceola County reported one new death.
- Sarasota County reported one new death.
- Sumter County reported one new death.
The state reported 35,200 hospitalizations, up from 34,695 hospitalizations, up from a day earlier. That represents an increase of 505 new hospitalizations over the previous day, which is still among the highest daily increases since the pandemic began.
State health officials reported a total of 5,312 current hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19, which is down from 5,491 current hospitalizations a day earlier.

Miami-Dade, which includes Miami and Miami Beach, reported 148,093 cases of the virus as of Wednesday. Nearby Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, reported 67,534 cases. Palm Beach County, which includes Palm Beach, West Palm and Boca Raton, reported 39,662 cases.
Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, reported 34,851 cases. Orange County, which includes Orlando, reported 33,946 cases.
