Florida Woman Finds Antique Wedding Dress Lying In Road
What began as a shopping trip to Costco for Deb Salazar and her husband ended as a mystery, and possibly even a love story for the ages.

BOCA RATON, FL — What began as a quick shopping trip Sunday to Costco for Deb Salazar and her husband ended as a mystery, and possibly even a love story for the ages.
"This thing is old. I think it’s antique," Salazar told Patch, referring to the well-preserved lacy wedding dress the couple found in a box lying in the road at Clint Moore Road and Military Trail around lunchtime.
"We were just driving along the road and we made a turn," she recalled. "It was in the turn lane, in a great big, old-fashioned dry cleaner’s box."

Salazar said her husband thought she was crazy for wanting to get the box.
"Yeah, he did, but he was curious to see what was in the box, too," she insisted.

The khaki-color box is about 3 feet long and 2 feet wide. It has an ornate label marked "Bridal Chest," which may provide a clue as to who owns it.

The box also contained the bride's wedding hat.
"It’s a big box. I think it’s supposed to look like a hope chest," she said.
Salazar said she doesn't want to show the entire dress because she wants the owner to be able to describe it before he or she picks it up.
"It’s nothing I would have worn at any point," she said. "I’m assuming it’s well older than me. It probably belongs to someone in their 70s or 80s."
Salazar said the person who wore the dress was not large.
"She was a tiny lady. That I can tell you," Salazar said. "This wedding dress is a size zero or maybe even smaller."
