1. Inter Miami CF II earned a 2-0 victory at DRV PNK Stadium on Saturday over a New England Revolution II squad that is currently second place in the MLS NEXT Pro table. Inter Miami CF II will be on the road this week, facing Columbus Crew 2 on Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m. (Inter Miami CF)
2. Advocates for stricter gun laws gathered outside of Senator Marco Rubio's office in Miami on Friday. David Hogg, survivor of the Parkland shooting, was among the dozens who stood in the rain calling for the senator to act on the recent mass shootings. (WGCU)
3. Two Broward County deputies and a third person were rushed to the hospital after being involved in a hit-and-run crash in Lauderdale Lakes. Deputies responded to a rollover crash on Northwest 31st Avenue and 26th Street around 10 p.m. Saturday when they were struck by a driver who ran a red light. (WSVN)
4. Families in Coral Springs were evacuated after heavy rains from the passing tropical system this past weekend caused excessive water damage to two apartment complexes. The displaced families have been sent to Senior Center at Sartory Hall for the time being. (CBS Miami)
5. Miami City Commissioner Joe Carollo, who proposed banning new mangroves at city parks to protect waterfront views, said last week he plans to drop the controversial move. Mangroves are known as one of the best natural barriers to fight erosion driven by rising seas and pollution in coastal waters, a problem in South Florida. (WUSF)

- William G. Hardin has been named dean of Florida International University’s College of Business (FIU Business). He has served as interim dean since May 2021. (Miami's Community News)
- Miami-Dade Mosquito Control trucks will be back on the road early Monday morning to spray larvicide following the heavy rain this weekend. Residents are asked to stay away 100 feet if they see crews. (CBS Miami)
