1. Miami Beach police officers have arrested Jeremy Antonio Rivera for engaging in a scheme by acting as a realtor and scamming victims into making payments for three different apartments. Police say Rivera used Facebook Marketplace to run the scam and made over $30,000 from the operation. He is facing charges for organized fraud, fraudulent info use identification, possession of a stolen fictitious drivers license, and unlawful use of a communication device. (WPLG Local 10)

2. Miami Chef Karla Hoyos flew to the Ukrainian border with World Central Kitchen to help feed refugees caught in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Hoyos is former chef de cuisine at the Bazaar by José Andrés. She has also helped in other times of crisis with World Central Kitchen, including during the Surfside collapse in South Florida. 3. Two men are recovering at the hospital after, Miami police said, they were shot in Miami on Sunday. The incident happened along the 6900 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue, just before 1:30 a.m. An investigation is now underway. (WSVN)

4. Brooklyn's Smorgasburg has opened in Miami's Wynwood across from the Wynwood Walls. The open-air food market has over 50 vendors and over 90% of them are local to the area. The market is only open on Saturdays and plans to eventually hit 60 vendors. (Subscription: Miami Herald)

5. The South Florida teacher attacked last week by a 5-year-old student in an incident at Lake Pines Elementary School that resulted in the teacher being hospitalized, has since been released and returned home, according to police. The student has not been arrested and no charges have been filed, although the Pembroke Pines Police Department is investigating the incident. (Miami Patch)

  • Miami Police say detectives have successfully identified Luis Felipe Gonzalez for his involvement in a sexual battery crime committed on Feb. 27 in the area of N.W. 37th Avenue and N.W. 1 Street. He is currently in the process of being extradited to Miami. (Twitter)
