Hurricane Florence: Miami Fire Rescue Prepares Teams

With Hurricane Florence bearing down on the Carolinas, Miami Fire Rescue was preparing to send in 2 teams ahead of the storm.

MIAMI, FL — With Hurricane Florence bearing down on the Carolinas, Miami Fire Rescue was preparing to send in two teams ahead of the storm.

"The city of Miami fire rescue Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 2 has received orders to deploy north to standby for Hurricane Florence," explained Capt. Ignatius Carroll of Miami Fire Rescue.

A second team from Florida Task Force 2 was also activated to pre-stage for Hurricane Florence. "FEMA has requested the Type 1 response, consisting of 80 members, to prepare for deployment and pre-staging," Carroll said.

Carroll said that task force members were staging at a warehouse at 1100 Northwest South River Drive to prepare for theeir departure.
