1. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who grew up in Miami and attended Miami-Dade County Public Schools, has been nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Joe Biden. Miami-Dade County Mayor Danielle Levine Cava said she felt "great hometown pride" when learning of Jackson's nomination. (Miami Patch)
2. One person has died and six others were left injured after a car hit patrons of a sidewalk café in Miami Beach. It happened Thursday evening around 6 p.m. at Call Me Gabby. Miami Beach Police officer Ernesto Rodriguez shared that "an elderly woman was attempting to parallel park her vehicle accelerating onto the outdoor sidewalk café on the restaurant." (WSVN)
3. The FBI is searching for a man who robbed a Miami Beach Bank of America at 7474 Collins Avenue at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The amount of money taken has not been released. Anyone with information that can help locate the suspect is asked to contact the FBI. (NBC Miami)
4. EDM star Jillionaire or Christopher Leacock, best known for his past work with the group Major Lazer, just opened a new Caribbean concept at Time Out Market Miami in Miami Beach. The concept is called Clyde's Caribbean and features dishes such as codfish fritters, coconut curried fish, and jerk salmon. (Subscription: Miami Herald)
5. South Florida is expecting a tourism rebound for spring break this year after losing "millions of dollars" during the pandemic. Thousands of students, families and tourists are expected to hit the beaches and fuel local businesses. (CBS Miami)
