1. Coconut Grove's Mayfair House Hotel & Garden has reopened with a rooftop bar and a speakeasy. The food and beverage program at the hotel is run by South Florida-based Lost Boy & Co Hospitality Group of Tropezón, Lost Boy Dry Goods and Fox's Lounge. (Time Out Miami)
2. Miami Herald has compiled a list of rent increases by ZIP codes in the last year amid a growing affordable housing crisis. The median rent at the 33009 ZIP code including Hallandale Beach, Aventura and Pembroke Park is now $3,850. It represents a 75 percent increase in the last year. ZIP codes 33134 and 33130, which are in Coral Gables and Miami, rose between 56 and 61 percent. (CBS Miami)
3. Police released new information this weekend in regard to the suspect who fired a gun at a Lauderhill Rescue Truck. Surveillance video captured the suspect wearing a dark shirt and red shorts carrying a firearm while riding a bicycle. (WPLG Local 10)
4. Scientists at the University of Miami (UM) are raising the alarm that if the world does not act soon, coastal cities and towns will slowly diminish from the planet. Scientists added that downtown Miami could disappear underwater in a few decades. (CBS Miami)
5. Miami-Dade County will soon decide whether to buy the assets of the Miami Military Museum. Some commissioners are concerned about the possibility of owning the museum and being fully financially responsible for it, warning it could become a problem. (Miami Today)

- Rhapsody at Rainbow Village is moving forward with a new utilities deal signed with Miami-Dade County for hook-up to the county's water and sewer system. The development will include 640 apartments. (The Next Miami)
- The Miami Hurricanes have fallen in the AP Top 25 poll after facing Texas A&M in their first road game and suffering a loss of 17-9. The Hurricanes also fell in the USA Today AFCA Coaches Poll as well. (Subscription: Miami Herald)
- Magic Leap requested a one-year extension for its job creation target goal in exchange for cash incentives from Plantation, blaming the pandemic for hiring difficulties. The company received $8.07 million in government funds as part of a job-growth incentive deal to create 725 new positions in 2016. (Subscription: South Florida Business Journal)
