Man Shot Outside Club Space; Police Search For Killer

MIAMI, FL — Police are searching for the person who opened fire on a 38-year-old man early Sunday morning outside a popular nightclub in downtown Miami. Taurus Holmes was found in the parking lot at 20 NE 11 Street outside Club Space. Holmes was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department said that Holmes was shot after a "large fight" broke out around 7:30 a.m.

"Subsequently, multiple shots were fired by unknown suspect(s)," according to Vega.

Police did not release an address for Holmes, but Local 10 reported that Holmes had been visiting from Milwaukee with his girlfriend. Holmes was reportedly a father of two children.

"The motive behind the shooting remains unknown at this time," Vega added.
