Man Surrenders In Shooting Death Of Miami Child
The shooting occurred at 10:22 a.m. at NW 65 Street and NW 13 Court.

MIAMI, FL — A man surrendered to Miami police on Saturday in connection with the shooting death of a four-year-old girl earlier in the day. The shooting occurred at 10:22 a.m. at NW 65 Street and NW 13 Court. A second child and an adult were injured by shattered glass.
"The suspect walked into our police station and turned himself in," Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department said on Saturday night. "The suspect is now in custody."
The child, whose name was being withheld by Miami police, was taken to North Shore Hospital by her mother where she later died.

"Moments later, officers received more information regarding an adult and another child who were injured by shattered glass," said Vega. "The child injured by glass was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, by Fire Rescue, for treatment."
The male suspect abandoned his car in the 2100 block of NW 62 Street and escaped on foot, according to Vega.

He said that police were still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
