Masked Men Attack 76-Year-Old, Girlfriend At Miami-Dade Home

The men tied the couple up and sexually assaulted the 60-year-0ld woman, according to Miami-Dade police.

MIAMI, FL — Three masked men forced their way into the Miami area home of a 76-year-old man and his girlfriend, tied the couple up and sexually assaulted the 60-year-0ld woman, according to Miami-Dade police. The chilling incident happened on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m.

Detective Alvaro Zabaleta told reporters at the scene that one of the intruders made a particularly heinous threat.

“One of them even insinuated that they had scissors and were threatening to cut the fingers off the female victim," Zabaleta explained.

Police said the intruders escaped in the victim's Lexus with a Baretta handgun they took from the home. Investigators later released a photo of a similar handgun.

"The male victim was in his driveway when he was approached by three unknown Latin males," according to Detective Chris Thomas of the Miami-Dade Police Department. "The subjects, who had their faces covered, forced the victim inside his residence. The subjects confronted the victim’s girlfriend, who was inside the residence."

Thomas said the couple was tied up and the woman was sexually assaulted by the intruders. They were believed to be between 20 and 30 years of age.

"The subjects fled in the victim’s gray Lexus sedan, with property and a firearm belonging to the victims," Thomas said. "The victims were treated on the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue."

Miami-Dade police recovered the Lexus on Thursday in the area of SW 82nd Avenue and SW 20th street. The trio of bandits were still at large as of Thursday night.
