1. Newly hired Miami-Dade Superintendent Jose Dotres starts today. He has spent three decades as a teacher, administrator and assistant superintendent in Collier County and was selected by Miami-Dade School Board in a 6-to-3 vote. (WPLG Local 10)

2. Miami-Dade County Public School officials announced Saturday that starting Monday the use of masks is no longer mandatory for adults. The use of masks is still encouraged for students, employees, visitors, contractors and volunteers, officials said. (CBS Miami)

3. A Navarro Discount Pharmacy in Miami reopened Saturday just hours after high levels of carbon monoxide caused more than two dozen people to become sick and sent eight employees to the hospital. Workers said they believed the cause of the chemical leak may have been from a machine that was being used to clean the floors. (WSVN)

4. Two men are in the hospital in critical condition after being shot in the upper torso during a robbery attempt at Bobby Trap strip club in Doral on Saturday, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. An investigation is underway. (NBC Miami)

5. More than 1.4 billion flowers were imported into Miami International Airport for Valentine's Day. U.S. Customs and Border Protection inspected them all for pests. The airport receives 91% of all flowers imported to the U.S., most of them coming from South America and valued at nearly $1.2 billion annually. (Miami Patch)
