1. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez announced the city has received about $5 million from MiamiCoin after the city decided to cash out during a volatile time in crypto. The digital wallet earmarked for the city went from $29 million in value to as low as $13 million, according to the Miami Herald. (NBC Miami)
2. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office will be officially charging real estate agent Willy Suarez Maceo with several murders, labeling him a serial killer. It will also release video of one of the murders. Records show Suarez Maceo does not have a prior criminal history in Florida. (WPLG Local 10)
3. Two Miami men have been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for stealing ventilators from South Florida that were headed to a COVID-19 intensive care center in El Salvador as part of a U.S. aid program, officials said. The ventilators were valued at $3 million and owned by the United States Agency for International Development. (WPTV)
4. Defense lawyers in a Miami Beach Gay Pride parade attack on a couple that happened nearly 4 years ago are planning to use a "Stand Your Ground" defense. They claim their clients assaulted the couple in self-defense after being bumped. A judge will decide if that defense is valid. (CBS Miami)
5. The two finalists for the vacant Broward supervisor position are current interim Superintendent Dr. Vickie Cartwright and retired Air Force colonel and businessman Michael Gaal. The decision should be made in the next week. (CBS Miami)
