1. Miami-Dade Police detective Cesar "Echy" Echaverry, 29, has passed away after being shot during a confrontation with an armed robbery suspect. Echaverry was a member of Miami-Dade Police's Robbery Intervention Detail. (NBC Miami)
2. Governor Ron DeSantis announced at the Broward County Courthouse Thursday that Florida is charging 20 people with election fraud. All 20 of the individuals were disqualified from voting after they were convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense, but still voted. (WPLG Local 10)
3. A new nationwide study by First Street Foundation found Miami-Dade County will see the biggest jump in "dangerous days," which is when the heat index passes 100 degrees Fahrenheit, by 2053. The increase could impact Miami's 100,000+ outdoor workers. (Axios)
4. FIU football player Luke Knox, 22, has died, according to the university. The cause of death has not been revealed, but foul play is not suspected. Dawson Knox, Luke Knox’s older brother, is entering his fourth season with the Buffalo Bills. (WSVN)
5. The share of Americans struggling to pay their bills is at a pandemic-era high with Miami being one of the hardest hit areas in the nation. Over 50% of residents surveyed said it was "somewhat or very difficult to cover usual household expenses." (Bloomberg)
