Miami-Dade First Responders Battle Grass Fire

Miami-Dade first responders battled a grass fire Tuesday morning that threatened two propane tanks as well as a nearby home and business.

MIAMI, FL — Miami-Dade first responders battled a grass fire Tuesday morning that threatened two propane tanks as well as a nearby home and business in northwest Miami-Dade.

A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesperson said firefighters arrived shortly after 7 a.m. near NW 10 Ave and NW 119 Street.

"When units arrived they found two live wires down and an active fire burning trees and a grassy area nearby," the agency spokesperson said.

First responders managed to keep the fire from spreading.

"As a precaution, the adjacent structures were evacuated," according to the spokesperson. "There were no injuries reported."
