Miami Homeless Shelter Workers Come Under Fire
Police said that the workers tried to help a woman who had been arguing with a man when the man opened fire on them.

MIAMI, FL — Two people serving meals to the homeless on Saturday night in Miami came under fire. Police said that the workers tried to help a woman who had been arguing with a man when the man opened fire on them. No one was injured.
"The victims attempted to intervene to assist the female when the male subject brandished a firearm and shot at them," according to Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department. "All parties involved ran and as the suspect reached the intersection, he turned around and fired several more shots."
Miami police said that the man was holding onto a female child during the incident but the girl was unharmed.

Miami police said the shots were fired around 7:55 p.m. at NE 2nd Avenue and NE 1st Street.
A man was later stopped and detained for questioning at NE 1st Avenue and NE 6th Street. Police found a handgun on the man but did not say whether they connected him to the incident.
