Miami Lotto Winner Claims $1 Million Prize
A 50-year-0ld Miami man got an early holiday present when he traded his $5 Florida Lottery Holiday Bonus Scratch-Off ticket for $1 million.

TALLAHASSEE – A 50-year-0ld Miami man got an early holiday present when he traded his $5 Florida Lottery Holiday Bonus Scratch-Off ticket for a $1 million top prize.
Taylor Nash Schrader of the Florida Lottery told Patch that Leonidas Orlando showed up at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee Thursday to cash in his ticket.

Orlando chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $710,000.00, according to Schrader.
He purchased his winning ticket from Lorio’s Music and Discount at 868 North Krome Avenue in Homestead. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The $5 game, $1,000,000 Holiday Bonus, offers more than $54.5 million in prizes, including six top prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-4.05.
Scratch-Offs are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, generating more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund during the 2017-18 fiscal year. Such sales account for 69 percent of ticket sales.
