Miami Man Charged With Killing 4-Year-Old Niece
Ronald W. Jones, Jr. surrendered to Miami police on Saturday in connection with the shooting death of Nyla Jones while she sat in a car.

MIAMI, FL — A 24-year-old Miami man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Saturday's shooting death of the man's four-year-old niece. Ronald W. Jones, Jr. surrendered to Miami police on Saturday after allegedly shooting Nyla Jones as she sat in a car with family members earlier in the day. The shooting occurred at 10:22 a.m. at NW 65 Street and NW 13 Court.
A second child and an adult family member were injured by shattered glass from the vehicle.
"She want to let him know she still love him, she forgive him," a family member told Local 10 news of the little girl's mother.

Officer Kiara Delva told patch that Jones apparently got into an argument with two adult family members, who were in the front seat of the vehicle and fired into the car, striking his niece in the back seat.
"It was an argument involving two adults with the suspect. He pointed a gun at the vehicle and said he was going to shoot," said Delva. "He then shot at the victim's vehicle."

The child was taken to North Shore Hospital by her mother where she later died, according to Miami police.
Police said that the second child was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital by Miami Fire Rescue for injuries related to the glass.
Jones allegedly abandoned his car in the 2100 block of NW 62 Street and escaped on foot, according to Miami police.
