1. The Miami-Dade School Board will vote on whether it should recognize October as LGBTQ History Month on Wednesday. LGBTQ advocacy groups support the proposed school board measure, while a conservative group called Moms For Liberty is calling it the "grooming agenda." (WPLG Local 10)

2. South Florida mother and teacher Michelle Vargas of Cutler Bay Middle School died saving her son from a rip tide in El Salvador on Sunday. Vargas was celebrating her 49th birthday that same day. A friend of Vargas has created a GoFundMe page to help the family with funeral costs and other expenses. (WSVN)

3. Smoked salmon packages distributed by a Miami-based company has been recalled in 11 states, including Florida. The FDA says St. James Smokehouse of Miami has recalled 93 cases of Scotch Reserve Scottish Smoked Salmon in the 4-ounce packages. The packages could be contaminated with listeria. (Miami Patch)

4. A Miami Publix employee is accused of sexual misconduct with a 13-year-old girl outside the supermarket. Keyven Worthy, 25, is facing charges of lewd and lascivious battery on a child and molestation of a child. (CBS Miami)

5. Suffolk Construction, one of the largest contractors in Florida, said it has been selected to start work on the Aman Miami Beach Hotel & Residences. Japanese architect Kengo Kuma is designing the new 18-story residential tower. The developer for the project is OKO Group. (The Next Miami)

  • The city of Hialeah has offered scent kits to help find missing people. The kits are being given to seniors and their families, with a priority on children. (WSVN)
  • A former LA Fitness employee in Miami-Dade County, Kristian Alphonso Rawlins, was arrested in Orlando months after he was accused of using a barbell to hit a gym member over the head, according to police. Rawlins is facing charges of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery. (WPLG Local 10)
