Miami Teacher Arrested After 'Romantic Pursuit' Of Student: Reports

Sean Loret de Mola, 37, is accused of trying to pursue a relationship with a former student, according to multiple news reports.

MIAMI, FL — A Miami teacher is facing charges following accusations he tried to pursue a relationship with a former student, according to multiple news reports.

Sean Loret de Mola, 37, a teacher at Glades Middle School, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of offenses against students by authority figures, CBS 4 Miami reported.

According to the TV station, he and a former student engaged in conversations via social media. However, the tone of the chats changed when he began to pursue her in a romantic manner, the station said.

At some point, Loret de Mola showed up at the victim's work to "court her," bringing her a card and candy and telling her how beautiful she is, NBC 6 reported.

Afraid of his continued behavior, both stations say, the former student reported her concerns to the school and police were notified.

Officers interviewed Loret de Mola and he was ultimately arrested. He was released from jail Thursday.

WSVN-TV reported that Miami-Dade County Public Schools placed him on an “alternate assignment as they initiate employee termination procedures."
