1. Marking 4 years since his son Joaquin was murdered in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in Parkland, Manuel Oliver climbed a construction tower on Monday next to the White House to drop a banner calling on President Biden to pass gun legislation. Joaquin Oliver was one of 14 students and three staff members gunned down on Valentine’s Day 2018. Activists continue to battle for gun legislation. (CBS Miami)

2. A woman has died after gunfire rang out along Interstate 95 in Northwest Miami-Dade. Police responded to a call about a crash along the northbound lanes of I-95 near the Northwest 103rd Street exit at around 3:30 a.m. on Monday. It remains unclear if she died as a result of the crash or the shooting. (WSVN)

3. A veteran Broward Sheriff's Office deputy who had been under investigation for use of excessive force has been fired, BSO Sheriff Gregory Tony announced last Friday. Sheriff Tony told CBS, "...when deputies are accused of stepping out of line, they will be investigated and, when necessary, held accountable for their actions." (CBS Miami)

4. A man was rushed to the hospital after he was severely injured in an explosion at a scrap yard in Lauderhill on Monday morning. The victim reportedly suffered severe injuries to his arm and leg and was taken to a local hospital as a trauma alert. (NBC Miami)

5. Micro housing units are spreading in South Florida amid an affordable housing crisis. Growing areas such as Hialeah, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach and Brickell are increasingly seeing developers bid for micro housing, according to J.C. de Ona, Southeast Florida Division president at Centennial Bank.
