1. Miami City Manager Art Noriega has appointed Manuel Morales as the new Chief of the Miami Police Department. Chief Morales joined the Miami Police Department in 1994 and throughout his 28 years of service, he has served in numerous positions including police commander, major overseeing four NET service areas and assistant chief in charge of the Administrative and Field Operations Divisions. 2. Total Wine & More, which has 34 locations in Florida and at least 3 locations in the South Florida area, has removed Russian products from its shelves nationwide. The decision was made to support Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion into their country. (Tampa Patch)

3. An entire city block in Brickell that has remained vacant more than a decade and is planned for a large three-tower mixed-use development has won approval. The current project name is 1420 S Miami Avenue. It will have more than 2.7 million square feet of floor area and 1,255 residential units. (Miami Today)

4. Sprouts Farmers Market has signed a 24,014-square-foot lease at Grove Central, a new mixed-use transit-oriented development underway in Miami's Coconut Grove neighborhood. It would be the third store Sprouts brings to the area and is currently planned for 2023. (Miami's Community News)

5. Miami Beach has announced additional safety measures for March due to increased spring break traffic. It includes a ban on direct or indirect consumption of alcohol on public beaches, limitation of live or amplified music, access restrictions, and more. The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages at all establishments located south of 16th Street will end at 2 a.m. each night between March 7h and 21. (NBC Miami)
