Personal Watercraft Crashes Into Haulover Park Jetty

MIAMI BEACH, FL — A Vortex Jet Ski Personal Watercraft crashed into a rock jetty at Haulover Park late Saturday afternoon. The operator was take to a local with undisclosed injuries, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m.

The crash came on one of the busiest tourist weekends in the Miami area as tens of thousands of art lovers flocked to nearby Art Basel. That event runs through Sunday.

"MDFR reminds boaters and PWC users to check marine conditions prior to heading out on the water and to exercise caution while operating vessels," the agency spokesperson added.
