Pipe Bomb Found In Broward Teen's Home
A teen allegedly threatened to kill students while playing an online video game not far from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

POMPANO BEACH, FL — A 16-year-old Broward County boy, who threatened to kill students while playing an online video game on Monday, was arrested by Broward Sheriff's deputies not far from where Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students are preparing to return to their classrooms on Wednesday. Police said they found a pipe bomb and weapons in the boy's home when he was taken into custody on Monday night.
The teen is facing a felony charge for possessing explosives, Joy Oglesby of the Broward Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday.
She said that the boy made the alleged threat around 4 p.m. on Monday while playing an online video game.

"A tipster called Boca Raton Police Department about the teen," Ogelsby explained. "The police investigated, and when they discovered the teen lived in Broward County, Boca Raton police notified the Broward Sheriff's Office."
She said that deputies found a homemade pipe bomb and weapons, but did not elaborate.

"Deputies with BSO's bomb squad, violent crimes and strategic investigations divisions responded, along with Homeland Security and the FBI," she said.
