A call to police on Saturday has turned into an animal abuse investigation after police said they found evidence of a family cat chopped in half.

The call came in at around 1:30 p.m., about a missing cat named Misu.
Misu's owners said they found their cat in their neighbor's backyard located in the 1500 block of Presidio Drive.
