Possible Hit-And-Run Victim Discovered In Miami

The body of a woman was discovered early Tuesday morning in Miami. Police suspect she was the victim of a hit-and-run driver.

MIAMI, FL — The body of a woman was discovered early Tuesday morning in Miami. Police suspect she was the victim of a hit-and-run driver. The incident occurred at NW 1 Ct. and 23 St, according to Miami police.

Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department told Patch that traffic homicide investigators were on the scene throughout the morning looking for clues.

"It happened around 4:15 this morning," Delva said with respect to the time the body was discovered. "The investigation is still underway."

Delva said that a security guard spotted the unresponsive woman laying in the road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami Fire Rescue.

"Miami Police Traffic Homicide Unit responded and verified that the female was run over, but it is still too early in the investigation to determine if that was the sole cause of death," Delva added.

She said that police were attempting to identify the vehicle involved as well as the identity of the victim.
