Rapper Arrested In Wynwood Slaying Of Former UCF Player
A 27-year-old rapper was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a former University of Central Florida football player.

MIAMI, FL — A 27-year-old rapper was arrested Monday by Miami police in connection with the shooting death of a former University of Central Florida football player outside a popular Wynwood hotspot.
Officer Kiara Delva of the agency said Lynwood Walker III was arrested for his involvement in Friday's slaying of 28-year-old Jose Trimaine.
Trimaine was identified by WTVJ-TV as a former two-season cornerback with the University of Central Florida football team who was also a rapper under the name Fat Papi Escobars.

Walker was identified by hip hop and entertainment website, The Source, as an associate of slain rapper XXXTentacion known as Tankhead666. Walker's arrest comes days before his 28th birthday on Saturday.
Delva said the shooting occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Friday outside Kush at 2003 North Miami Avenue. A second man who was not immediately identified by Miami police was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

"Officers immediately established a perimeter between NW 2nd Avenue - NE Miami Court, between 18th-22nd Street while SWAT, K-9 and aviation searched for a possible offender being contained within the area," Delva said. Police did not find any suspects at the time.
Trimaine was taken by Miami Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
