Cruise Ship Transfers Passenger At Sea
A passenger who suffered a medical emergency aboard a cruise ship Monday night had to be evacuated from the ship in rough seas.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — A passenger who suffered a medical emergency aboard a cruise ship Monday night had to be evacuated from the ship in rough seas.
A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the passenger was transferred from the cruise ship to a fireboat around 10 p.m.
"The fireboat weathered the high seas to rendezvous with the ship nearly four miles east off Government Cut," the spokesperson said.

The massive ship opened a door at sea level that allowed rescue personnel to dock.
"Once in position, MDFR crew quickly boarded the ship, assessed and packaged the patient for transport to the awaiting rescue at PortMiami," the spokesperson said. "The patient was safely transported to an area hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment."
