Here are the top five stories in Miami today:

1. South Florida political stunt activist Chaz Stevens has set his sights on The Lone Star State with a "Messin' with Texas" campaign. He is raising money to print and send posters to Texas public schools that read "In God we trust" in Arabic. The new Texas law requires schools to display a poster reading, "In God we trust" if donated but does require the posters to be made in English, leading to the idea for his next stunt. (Miami Patch)

2. Democratic Florida Lt. Governor candidate Karla Hernandez-Mats responded to criticism from Republican Governor Ron DeSantis while at Sergio's restaurant in Pembroke Pines during a campaign stop this week. She accused DeSantis of staying silent about Rep. Matt Gaetz, the Republican Congressman from Florida under federal investigation for sexual misconduct, reportedly with a minor. (WLRN)

3. A recent report that prompted Governor DeSantis to replace four school board members in Broward County is now also leading to a probe of Duval, Orange, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties for safety protocols. A letter sent to the districts said they face "state scrutiny for underreporting criminal activity on campus." Miami-Dade County Schools is the focus of the letter. (Florida Politics)

4. Miami-based and celebrity backed app, Betr, has launched its micro-betting app on both Apple and Google Play with a free-to-play platform. Users will be able to wager on every pitch and at-bat of all Major League Baseball games, as well as every play and drive of all NFL and college football games. Betr was founded in 2022 by Joey Levy and Jake Paul. (The Capitolist)

5. Thursday's assassination attempt on the life of Argentina's Vice President Cristina Fernández shocked members of South Florida's Argentine community. Customers at Rincon Argentino restaurant in Miami reacted with disbelief and one customer responded "people are crazy" and that it was a sign of the times. (WPLG Local 10)
