1. A “presumptive” case of monkeypox is being investigated in South Florida, state health officials said Sunday. Health officials in Broward County and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating the case which appears to be related to international travel, the Florida Department of Health in Broward County said in a news release. 2. Three South Florida residents have been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found guilty of running an elaborate fraud scheme that cheated U.S. manufacturers of infant formula, eye-care products, and other FDA-regulated items out of more than $100 million. (CBS Miami)
3. Questions remain after a man was accused of going on a destructive crime spree across three Broward County cities that left two people killed and an infant and multiple others hospitalized. The incident began shortly before 2 p.m. Friday when police officers in Coral Springs responded to a reported hit-and-run crash in the 8100 block of Wiles Road. (NBC Miami)
4. A South Florida school bus driver is in prison after allegedly sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl, authorities said. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon in the 2300 block of Southwest Seventh Street in Miami, according to an arrest part. (WPLG Local 10)
5. Miami-Dade Police Department, in conjunction with the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works, have taken steps to make the Rickenbacker Causeway safer for all residents. Steps include installing temporary barricades and cones along the bike lane at critical points to help reduce the instances of accidents, additional bicycle warning signs, and messaging boards.
