MIAMI, FL — Break out the green beer and brush up on your Irish brogue. It's nearly St. Patrick's Day and some Florida cities have better celebrations than others.
A new study by personal finance website WalletHub ranked 200 U.S. cities based on 17 factors ranging from the number of Irish pubs and restaurants per person the cheapest three-star hotel prices available on St. Patrick’s Day and even the weather. The latter probably had little to do with Chicago's selection as the number one overall best city for St. Patrick's Day.
In Florida, Tampa topped the list of the best Sunshine State cities to wear green at number five on the list while Miramar finished 199th, only one place above Brownsville, Texas in last place.

"Tampa is the fifth best place to go to for St. Patrick's Day. It has a parade, a large number of affordable Irish pubs and restaurants, and the average price for a St. Patrick's Day party ticket is the third lowest nationwide," WalletHub analyst Jill Gonazelez told Patch. "It also ranks high in terms of safety."
Orlando ranked 33rd while Fort Lauderdale ranked 67th. St. Petersburg and Port St. Lucie came in at 72nd and 79th place respectively, while Cape Coral ranked 87th.

Tallahassee ranked 111th on the list and Hollywood ranked 146th.
Miami, which is otherwise known for its nightlife, ranked only 172nd on the WalletHub list of best St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
"One of the reasons for this is the fact that just 1.3 percent of its population is Irish," Gonzalez explained. "The weather forecast for St. Patrick's Day doesn't look very well for the city either. It will be colder than average, and there is a high chance it might rain. Plus, the average beer price in Miami is among the highest in the country."
Jacksonville ranked 179th on the list while Pembroke Pines and Hialeah came in at 189th and 196th places respectively.
Boston, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh were among the other top five cities in which to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, according to WalletHub.
