SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FL — A 66-year-old grandmother has accused a handyman of raping her at knifepoint in a high-rise condominium off Collins Avenue last week as she cared for her 18-month-old grandson.

Sixty-eight-year-old Hoover Gutemberg Hundewadt was charged with sexual battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with a weapon, firearm or aggravated battery and battery on a person 65 or older.

The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. Friday inside one of the three buildings that make up the Arlen House complex.

Court documents said Hundewadt had been working in the woman's bathroom when he allegedly asked her if she was married or in a relationship. He allegedly told her she looked great for her age.

"During this conversation the victim disclosed to the defendant she has not been with anyone for 20 years," court documents explained.

Hundewadt, who lives in nearby Hallandale Beach, pulled the woman in close and forcefully kissed her, according to court documents.

He then allegedly grabbed a 5-inch steak knife from the kitchen and threatened the woman allegedly saying "you are going to give it to me."

Court documents said Hundewadt allegedly lifted up the woman's shirt and bra.

"Although she was repeatedly saying no and stop, Hoover groped and kissed her breast," court documents said.

The documents said Hundewadt allegedly headbutted the woman and threw her onto a bed, where he performed oral sex on her and forced her to have intercourse.

Before Hundewadt left the apartment, he allegedly warned the woman not tell her daughter, who was at a medical appointment at the time.

Hundewadt insisted that the sex was consensual in a recorded interview with Sunny Isles Beach police on Monday, according to court documents.
