Teen Seriously Injured After Being Thrown From Golf Cart

HOMESTEAD, FL — A teenager had to be airlifted to a trauma center Sunday when they were thrown from a golf cart.

A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the teen was injured around 12:30 p.m. in the 18100 block of SW 153 Place.

"Paramedic crews medically tended to the patient, who was transported by air rescue to the west trauma center in order to receive further medical care," the spokesperson said.

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesperson said golf carts can be dangerous for both drivers and passengers. The spokesperson did not identify the teenager who was thrown from the golf cart.

"MDFR is urging everyone to stay safe by slowing down and wearing helmets at all times," the spokesperson added.
